Story
The story goes that Icarus and Daedalus had to escape before King Minos could throw both of them in to the labyrinth so they would escape. Because Daedalus was a master craftsman and engineer, he decided to build wings. Over a short period of time, Daedalus collected bird's feathers and sticks that he could find, and used wax to hold the feathers together. With this he created a set of wings before him and his son to escape Crete. Before they left Crete, Daedalus told Icarus to becareful and not fly to high or to low. If he flew to high, the sun would melt the wax holding the feahers, and if he flew to low he would get sucked in to the sea. After they took off, everything was fine until Icarus decided to fly higher and higher. He soared above the clouds and eventually the sun melted the wax. He yelled for his dad to help but there was nothing he could do. He sunk below and flopped in to the water. Daedalus had to contine flying and landed in Sicily.
